This half-day tour will take you to the archaeological site of Aquileia, which has been registered in the Unesco World Heritage List since 1998.

Founded by the Romans, Aquileia is rich in artistic and historical treasures.

It was the seat of the Patriarchate that lasted until 1751 and it became the hub for the spread of Christianity during the Middle Ages.

We’ll visit the forum, remains of the ancient river port and private houses with beautifully preserved mosaic floors, Roman roads, and the ancient Basilica, which preserves one of the largest and most spectacular early Christian mosaic floors of the West.

The National Archaeological Museum which houses a rich collection of objects and materials found in the ancient Roman city is also worth a visit.
